  • 2 1/2-3 cups chicken cooked and shredded
  • 3 carrots roughly chopped
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 2 celery stalks roughly chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 2 cups boiling hot water
  • 2 tbsp chicken base powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 8 oz kluski or homestyle noodles
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 8 cups chicken stock/broth
  • 2-3 bay leaves
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • salt and pepper to taste


  1. Place olive oil and butter into a stock pot or dutch oven. When butter is melted and oil is hot add onion and saute over medium heat until translucent (about 5 min). Add in carrots, celery, and garlic. Saute for 1 minute. Combine chicken base and boiling water. Add to pot. Add stock/broth, herbs, bay leaves, and chicken. Let simmer on low covered for 30 minutes. Add in noodles. Cook for 5 minutes or until tender. Salt and pepper taste.
