Happy Tuesday!!  I hope you all had an amazing weekend!
As I mentioned in Sunday’s post-
I had plans to complete our
porch refresh.  Unfortunately, it rained for the
better part of the day, so that didn’t happen.
The good news is-it gave me time to work on a project
that I thought would be perfect for the space!

I fell in love with this rustic garden gate-the moment
I saw it at a yard sale last month.  Bonus-it was only
$5!!!  I knew it would be perfect
for our front porch-and although I liked the raw wood-I couldn’t
help but picture it painted.  I know.  I know.  Why
mess with a good thing?
Well, at least that is what hubby said, after I began
taking it apart-and preparing it for paint!
But I was already on a mission to give this
piece a little paint pizzazz, so I ignored his grumbling,
and continued on.
This is the first time I used Waverly chalk paint-and I have
to say-I LOVE it!  Not only are there lots of colors to choose from-
it only costs $5.97!  I chose two colors for this project.
Agave-for the wood frame-and Crystal for the wrought iron insert.
Both were dry brushed on-(Note: one coat is all I needed. This paint is VERY thick!)
After it dried (very quickly)-I gave the entire piece a light sanding.
It turned out even better than I imagined, but there was still something
missing.
After searching through my stash of re-claimed wood I had from
our farm-I found exactly what I was looking for!
The wood already had chippy paint-so all I had to do was
pull out my stencils, and…VIOLA!
And guess what?  Hubby actually liked the results!!  What do you think?
To paint-or not to paint?

I’ll be sharing at these amazing parties, so stop on over and be inspired!
And don’t forget to come back tonight and link up to
The Wonderful Wednesday Blog Hop!
Blessings and hugs,
