Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a FABULOUS weekend!

Hubby and I spent most of ours working on the living room makeover.

It’s funny-we’ve been working on this room for a little over two weeks (off and on), and although we’ve done a TON of work, it sure doesn’t look like it right now!  Of course, most of the work is ‘behind’ the scenes so to speak.

Repairing ceiling and walls-living room

Hubby’s focus this weekend was the ceiling.  We put the drywall last Wednesday-and hubby spent most of Saturday and yesterday morning taping and mudding.  My job was to finish repairing, sanding, and priming the walls.  I still have one coat of primer to do-but things are FINALLY moving forward!

Even though we still have a LONG way to go-(I can’t tell you excited I am to get to the decorating stage!  I have so many ideas-my head is literally spinning!

Having lot’s of work to do indoors has actually been a blessing though-since the weather has been rainy and cold, here in our neck of the woods!

After we wrapped up the living room project yesterday, I decided hubby needed a little reward for all of his hard work!

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies1

So I whipped up a batch of his FAVORITE Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies!

We also fired up our brand new grill this weekend, and we enjoyed some YUMMY steaks and my favorite salad!

Broccoli Salad

I was able to catch up this show last night, and it gave me SO much inspiration!

Speaking of inspirational- I have to find this bush for one of my gardens, after reading Carole’s sweet post. (I cried).

My daughter, Mel, got her ‘crafty-girl’ on last weekend, and used this tutorial to make roman shades for her kitchen!  She said it was SUPER easy-and that even I could do it!  I have no idea where I would put them-but challenge on!

Wishing you all an AMAZING Monday!

Blessings and hugs,

  1. Progress is wonderful isn’t it? Excited to see how this room turns out and I agree the finishing stage is always the best. That salad looks amazing, you’ve given me an idea! I have some tasty cabbage in the garden that I still need to eat. Thinking of something along the same line. Rainy and wet here to so I have also been working on house projects. Hope you have a great week!

  2. Progress is definitely WONDERFUL, Carole! I was able to get some painting done in the living room, and it’s amazing the difference it made! Cabbage would be awesome in this salad instead of broccoli! You’ll have to let me know how it turned out! Wishing you a blessed rest of your week!
